Care Leads to Care: How Caring for Ourselves Helps Us Better Care for Others
At BBD Perfect Storm, we are on a mission to smash tired gender stereotypes. Our New Macho division is committed to redefining masculinity and eliminating harmful male stereotypes in advertising. As part of this mission, we are excited to share, Care Leads to Care, an eye-opening report on caring practices in the US. This report examines how when men embrace self-care it’s not just good for them, but also has a ripple effect on their families and communities, impacting everyone for the better.
Created in partnership with Promundo and Dove Men+Care (Unilever), this report is underpinned by an ambition to challenge masculine stereotypes and remove the barriers to all kinds of care among men. The research indicates that a holistic approach to care is vital for men, where not only physical but social and emotional needs are also tended to.
We are excited by the transformative potential of this research in creating a world in which men caring for themselves becomes less the exception and more the norm. Because when men care for themselves everyone around them feels it too.
