CONTROLLING THE FATE OF YOUR CLIENTS

CONTROLLING THE FATE OF YOUR CLIENTS

I’ve never considered myself remotely spiritual in the new-age sense of the word. The mere mention of Lay-lines, Feng Shui and healing crystals has me immediately planning the quickest route to the emergency exit.

However, I’ve always believed in Karma. I firmly believe that you reap what you sow in life.

Be considerate, generous and thoughtful, and you’ll be repaid in kindness. Be deceitful, dishonest and uncaring and it will catch-up with you eventually and lead to future misery.

It’s a very simple philosophy for life.

So, whilst flicking through Facebook recently I was intrigued to see a post about Karma, and far from being a generic term for what-goes-around-comes-around, there are in fact 12 Laws of Karma.

With one eye on the emergency exit, I read on. I started to think that while the 12 Laws were a great mantra for life, they’re also a great mantra for Agency life, for developing outstanding campaigns and building exceptional client relationships.

Whatever your agency role, follow these 12 steps and the fate of your client’s business will be in great hands. You may even become a better person too.

After all, 495 million Buddhist’s and 2,500 years of practice can’t be wrong.

1). The Great Law – whatever you put into the universe will come back to you

2). The Law of Creation – life does not happen by itself, we need to make it happen

3). The Law of Humility – we must accept things in order to change them

4). The Law of Growth – when we change ourselves, our lives follow suit and change too

5). The Law of Responsibility – we must take responsibility for what is in our lives

6). The Law of Connection – the past, present and future are all connected

7). The Law of Focus – we cannot think of two things at the same time

8). The Law of Giving Hospitality – our behaviours should match our thoughts & actions

9). The Law of Here and Now – you cannot be in the present if you are looking backward

10). The Law of Change – history repeats itself until we learn from it and change

11). The Law of Patience & Reward – the most valuable rewards require persistence

12). The Law of Significance & Inspiration – rewards are a direct result of the energy & effort we put into it

So, forget trying to feng shui your clients and apply the simple rues of Karma.
